German man needs to drink 20 liters of water a day to stay alive

The man is suffering from the rare metabolic disease Diabetes insipidus.

MUNICH (Daily Dunya) - A 35-year-old German architect Marc Wübbenhorst needs to drink at least 20 litres of water every day or else he will die from dehydration.

The man is suffering from the rare metabolic disease Diabetes insipidus in which cause excretion of extreme amount of urine hence; resulting into intense thirst and dehydration.

If Mark does not drink water for some hours, his body will dry out and he will die in a couple of hours. The condition can develop at any point in life however; Wübbenhorst was born with the disease.



He begins his day with a big bottle of water to hydrate his body but it doesn’t last long as he soon has to visit the bathroom.

The situation gets tough for him at night as he has to constantly hydrate himself and then excrete the fluids. He says that he has never slept for more than two hours at night.

Likewise, sports and long journeys are out of the equation for Mark.
